You will find here letters that we send out sharing our financial needs for the upcoming year. It is our prayer that you will prayerfully consider becoming a financial partner with us in this ministry! We are recognized by the IRS as a non-profit 501(c)(3) ministry and all contributions are tax deductable.

Dear ministry friends and family,
We thank God for each one of you! Your love, prayers, and support of us in any and every way this past year has been such a blessing and encouragement to us. Every note, e-mail, and/or gift has truly blessed us and kept us going when times were hard! You have ministered to us in so many ways, and we are so grateful! We are more excited than ever about all that the Lord is doing in our lives and the ministry to which He has called us! Thank you for being such a great part of it!
This time last year, we were looking forward with great anticipation to beginning this new ministry and now here we are completing our first year of missions! Check out some of the highlights of the year below:
Ministry in Nicaragua:
Ministry in the United States:
You were a part of all the things the Lord did through this ministry as you gave, prayed, and encouraged! Thank you for your ministry to them and us! This is an incredible list of accomplishments that only God Himself could have done in and through us in this first year!
As we look towards 2010, we are trusting the Lord to provide for our needs, as well as the funds necessary to minister to those He leads us to. As you know, we only send out requests for finances for our ministry once each year. We have made it a policy NOT to beg for funds for this ministry! If the Lord does not support it, then we need to shut it down. No amount of begging on our part will help anyway!
Here are some things we are praying about for 2010:
These are God sized goals that we believe we have received from Him and will require His involvement. We see Him working in these areas and we want to join Him in that work. We are excited about the many possibilities that await us next year!
As you have been able to keep up with our financial status on our newsletters, you know that the total income thus far this year is $41,274.56, and that is incredible for our first year! God is so good!! Many of you also know, that our income as church staff was around $58,000 per year, so this amount given hasn’t quite met our own personal needs, (even though we have scaled back as much as possible) much less the additional funds that provided so much ministry in Nicaragua and the West Virginia area. In order to meet the short-fall, we depleted all of our personal resources and even incurred some debt on our ministry credit card. We have been and are trusting God to provide the funds for us to pay this card off completely, as we tried to do each month, but were not always able to do so.
We are telling you all of this in order to let you know that beginning 2010, we are going to operate on a cash basis. This means that if we do not have the cash up front to purchase our plane tickets, rent our cars, etc., then we are just going to wait on the Lord to provide the funds rather than going into more debt on our credit card. It is our belief that where God guides and directs, He provides, so we are going to learn to wait on Him. This may result in what may appear as some lag time. But we are learning that waiting on the Lord is never lag time, if we are allowing Him to renew our strength so that we can mount up on wings like eagles. Because THEN we can soar; we can run and not grow weary and we can walk and not faint!
As you can see in the above 2010 vision list, we would like to raise the money to purchase a vehicle, so that we won’t have to continue to spend the $40 - $50 per day to rent one and the insurance that is so very costly on rentals. Insurance on a private vehicle is about like it is here or a little cheaper. We would like to also raise the money for the completion of a church that needs a roof and the construction of another out in the bush country where we put the tin on the shelter.
These two items need to be over and above our regular budgeted items. In fact, we are praying that the Lord might provide most or all of these needs in year-end giving! Many people like to give at or near the end of the year for tax purposes. These needs would be great projects to contribute to at the end of this year or anytime. All year-end gifts MUST be postmarked by and dated December 31, 2009, in order for credit to be given for this tax year.
Please be in prayer with us about these God sized needs! Yes, we are well aware of the condition of our economy, but we are much more aware of the power of our God!! He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond anything that we could ask or think, to bring HIM glory!
If you believe the Lord is leading you to invest in this ministry, here are several things we would like for you to consider.
First, would you commit to pray for us on a regular basis? Everyone can afford to do this and the dividends are out of this world!! Pray that we will be obedient to every command and live according to His purposes and plan to bring Him glory.
Second, could you please give the very best gift possible in December to help us out of our deficit and to help us with the purchase of a vehicle and the construction needs of these two churches? Any size gift will help us in this matter! Don’t ever think that your $5 won’t make any difference! Little is much when God is in it!
Third, would you commit unto the Lord (not to us) to become at least a Gideon’s Army member, contributing at least $25 per month to this ministry? Many of you are doing that and more already and we are so grateful. We received as little as some $5 one time gifts and as much as $500 per month this past year, so no gift is too small and certainly none too large!
Fourth, any time is a great time to receive contributions, but if possible, could you help us know when our “payday” is going to be by scheduling your donations between the first and the fifteenth of each month? This will help us tremendously in budgeting our money and paying our bills. Everyone likes to know when “payday” is, but if you can’t, we certainly understand and will gladly receive your contribution any time you send it.
Thank you so very much for even taking the time to read this far into this lengthy letter! You must love us to have gotten this far! We deeply appreciate you being a friend to this ministry and for desiring to help us follow the Lord in obedience to His call on our lives! We are certainly blessed to have you as our friends and family and to know that you love us as you do! We, like the Apostle Paul, are blessed upon every remembrance of you and we thank Him for you!
Whether you are led to contribute to this ministry or not, we love and appreciate you and your love for us. We sure hope that you will keep us in your prayers and continue to keep up with us and let us hear from you from time to time! We are always encouraged by e-mails, cards, and calls from you through the year.
May God truly bless you and your family during this special time of year that we set aside to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! To Him belongs ALL the glory!
